Founded on the 1st day of May 1954, by Ven. WehalleDhammanande Thero with five children – in the Walukaramaya Temple. With this humble beginning, the school has today transformed its colour to be acknowledged as a leading Sinhala, Buddhist boys’ school-located at R. A. De Mel Mawatha, Colombo - 03, Sri Lanka.
As a public, national school, it is controlled by the central government, as opposed to a provincial council. It provides both primary and secondary education and it is the wisdom center for nearing 5000 students...

We have an outstanding legacy of magnanimity, benevolence, astute foresight, and remarkable leadership. We were born in the historic year 1969, so much of positive energy and hope was resonated amongst the people in our planet – the year a man set foot in the moon. It was a year which resonated the feeling of possibility, a huge stride for man-kind. What a year, and what a start for us, the 69ners to be born then and today at 20’19, here we are celebrating our ride of possibility.
THE CLASS OF 88, DONATED THE MUCH NEEDED SCRUM MACHINE TO THE COLLEGE, TO FACILITATE THE CAPABILITY AND ENHANCE THE COMPETITIVENESS OF THE RUGBY TEAMS IN COLLEGE. THE PROJECT CHAIRMAN WAS INDIKA GALPIHILLA.
